The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace.

The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court and Kensington Palace until 18th April 22

We visited Hampton Court Palace today for the Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt. It runs until 18th April at Hampton Court and 17th April at Kensington Palace. It’s a very popular event and you have to book in advance. The trail is included in palace entry and takes you on a lovely walk around the grounds. Pick up your bunny trail sheet on your way in- and remember to bring a pen! There are 12 bunnies to find, you tick them off your trail sheet then claim your 10g Lindt chocolate bunny on your way home. There is a non-chocolate option if you prefer- Eden was chuffed with his pull-back carrot car or you can choose a bunny pin badge.

Hampton Court is stunning at the moment as their tulip festival is in bloom. Over 120,000 tulips around the palace make it absolutely beautiful!

The Magic Garden is also included in the entry price, so we made a day of it by including a picnic lunch and playtime in the Magic Garden. There are water fountains and water in the sand pit so think about packing a change of clothes as there were many soaking wet kids and anxious-looking parents emerging from the playground!

There are food and drink options available- a cafe in the Magic Garden, cafes in the palace and the Tilt Yard and ice cream outlets. As expected, prices are pretty hefty – I paid almost £7 for two soft drinks in the Tilt Yard cafe, and that was with the member discount! It’s a good idea to pack a picnic lunch if it’s a nice day as it’s lovely to sit and eat and play in the gardens- and it will save you a small fortune!

We always park in the on-site car park. Hampton Court opens at 10am and the car park fills up quickly so we always get there around 10:30. The car park is £1.60 per hour but I discovered today that blue badge holders park for free. Just press the button on your way out, flash your badge at the camera and they lift the barrier.

A note about membership. If you have the chance to enjoy lots of days out, membership to Historic Royal Palaces is really good value. Entry to the palace for 2 adults and 3 children is almost £80 whereas annual membership for 2 adults and 6 children is £122 and gives your family unlimited access to Hampton Court, Kensington Palace, the Tower of London and Kew Palace (in Kew Gardens). You also get access to member-only events and 10% discount in the shops and cafes. We have had membership for a few years and use it loads!

A summary of our day in 48 seconds!

Enjoy your adventures!
